“My law partner came back from a trip to New York astonished at the Blackberry. He said, and I quote, “Every civilized person in New York, no matter what country they’re from, carries a Blackberry.” Apparently seeing African bankers carry them around shocked him quite a bit. He was flabbergasted at how badly Koreans were missing the boat on this tool that everyone else in the world was using.”

ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY. The world moves too fast for Korea now. Before, they could just copy something and start rolling it off the assembly-line floor. You just can’t do that kind of shit fast enough anymore. The world adopts standards quickly, and not allowing something like the blackberry or iphone to be readilly available to the population makes your nation slow, closed, and backward.

Choice leads to innovation. Why can’t Korea.inc come to terms with this fact?

Blackberry or Blackberry-like device not in Korea?  That surprises me. None of the phones get e-mail access?  That’s all it is.  iPhone is shit.  It’s an iPod that can make phone calls.
